Chocolate & Chinese

Yes it’s Thursday.  For me this signifies the end of the week – my week rotates around my weekly meeting at/of Weight Watchers.  After the meeting I scoff a Double Decker bar on the way to do my weekly shopping.  This is gone before the car is even out of the car park (chocolate evaporates in my presence).  Once the shopping is done and we’re in the car I phone himself and he rings the chinese takeaway.  So when I get home I have enough time to take in the shopping and the dinner arrives.  King Prawn Chop Suey & boiled rice and a can of diet coke – followed after a while by a Cadbury Dairy Milk that we split.

If I have been sticking to my menus for the week this is a treat of the highest sort.  If I have been eating willy nilly then it doesn’t hold the same flavour or satisfaction.  So for that alone it is worth my while being disciplined in my eating.  There have been times when I’ve decided that nah don’t fancy a chinese takeaway lets get something different but the when the times comes around it’s hard to break the habit.  On the other hand it’s not the chinese & chocolate that are special it’s the Thursday treat that is special – am I nuts?

Worlds Best!

Let me introduce you to the absolute love of my life.  Even when I’m mad at him he makes me smile.  If I’m having a rubbish day in work I only have to picture him in my head and I’m smiling.

Deirdre & Pádraig This is us on our wedding day.  I generally don’t like being   photographed but there are times when you can’t escape.  I was ill for three months before the wedding seriously ill for during the month before so when I look at these pictures I’m delighted to say look at me!!  I’m alive –  I lived to get married!

Pádraig was wonderful during the May-July bouts of hospital residence – between working all day, coming straight out to visit me then getting a lift from my parents back to our flat where he had to pack up all of our stuff as we were moving in with my parents while we were saving for the wedding and moving into our apartment/duplex.  However he managed it and I didn’t envy him one bit.

You know it’s something great when a person can make you laugh after all years you’ve been together.  He encourages me when I take a notion that I want to learn something or do something.  Between us we coax each other to be the best we can be.

Pádraig, I love you and I’m so happy that you married me on Friday 13th August 2004.

Sewing Box

This is the sewing box that himself bought me for Christmas. It’s butterflies and flowers and very pretty.

I think but I’m not 100% that it was bought in Past Times – a wonderful shop full of loveliness.

Pretty Things

I have a blog for giving out in and I have a LiveJournal for wittering in so I think that this is going to be a Weblog of things that make me smile.  This could be anything from nice pictures of my cats, food, things I’ve made or would like to make and just general pretty things.

So to start the list of happiness this morning I drove myself and himself down to Blanchardstown to do our weekly shopping.  This was the first time for the shopping and only my second time down to the shopping centre.  I’m pleased that we managed it without incident after all I’m only learning to drive and I’m also pleased ’cause our fridge and presses are full again.
