It is that time of year again when the lovely Reverend tweets his Stations of the Cross. I have always been stunned by his choice of photos to illustrate the message.

There have been many times, when I was in work, that I wished I could just spend the afternoon reading my book. It seems the reading bug has bitten again – this should been seen in a celebratory light however as I’m working from home at the moment it means falling for temptation is all too easy. This morning I spotted a tweet from a friend:-

– and he’s right! There is something comforting in that vintage detective fiction. In the last day or two I’ve been reading a J.Jefferson Farjeon book from the British Library Crime Classics.
Sometimes he can be a bit florid in his narrative and that made it a little difficult to get into, however the chase has started, and I don’t know why, but I am thinking it might be something a long the lines of The Thirty Nine Steps by John Buchan – we will have to wait and see – not that, that’s a bad thing I must add. As I’m a slow reader this will take me a while yet – but I’ll let you know how I get on…
Sadly I must return to work and the book has to be left in a different room, just so I’m not tempted to pick it up for a minute/hour or two.
John Reppion. (Who is also a good read!)
I’ve been seeing them a lot on social media lately – that might be because I started to follow them recently (Who Knew?!).
ANYWAY! One of their prints has caught my eye and I think next week will see me being the proud owner of this:
This picture (☝) is by Marta Barcikowska, actually they have a lot of pictures that I think I need to get. Last year I picked up this little beauty:

I’ve had a year of distraction between one thing and another. However this morning it feels like I’m the old me again. I didn’t wake ’til almost 09:00! don’t you love a Saturday that doesn’t start early? I’ve pottered about, had my breakfast. I’ve started to use almond milk on my porridge – it’s a flavour combo I think works well together and the almond milk also reminds me of the Horchata we had when we were in Valencia earlier this year. I’ve posted a photo over on my other blog Here, I’ve dipped into blog feeds I haven’t opened in months! and I have a blanket on my hook that is calling to me. I think all in all I’m starting to feel a lot more settled in myself and that makes me very happy. Now I’m off to do a little of my Duolingo (one of the things that has occupied my time for the last year – I’m on a 233 day streak!) and then I have to actually start the day.
Have a great Saturday and here’s a lovely picture to start your… Afternoon!
I love the work of Raymond Briggs! So it is with great joy and glee to read on the Ethel & Ernest blog that there is a trailer for the up and coming film by Lupus films. October 28th is now in the diary and I can’t wait!!!!

Yesterday I bought a “thing” – it’s a throw with a hood and mittens. It’s one of the softest things I have bought in a long time (normally it’s balls of wool). I spent most of the afternoon offering my purchase around for people to feel – it really is that soft!
When I got home I unwrapped it and posted a photo of me proudly sporting my new throw. I have to say when the evenings get cooler I really am going to be as snug as a bug!

I am so excited about this – it’s currently being used as a cushion, as it folds up into the hood – it really works as a comforter
Every Saturday morning I go through my instagram feed for the week, this is no small endeavour! Here is a selection of 4 – I love the way they dress their photos and their lighting is exquisite, they make me smile 🙂

There are two things I love about getting my hair cut:-
As part of the eternal list of things I like, yesterday I got my hair cut.
Here’s how it turned out – I’m also rather impressed with the photos – who knew it was difficult to photograph the back of your own head!!
