In my infinite wisdom, I forgot my kindle today. I left it under my pillow – I reached into my bag once I was on the bus and there was no kindle – no story – nothing to read. Technically that wasn’t true – I’d my phone which is essentially a gate way to EVERYTHING (possibly). However I was really bereft without the story I was reading (Alan Garner‘s The Weirdstone of Brisingamen, if you were wondeirng). I knew I could read something from my iPad but I was reading Weirdstone – I wanted to continue with that rather than start something new.
Anyway – this oversight has forced me to come to a decision – I’m going to have to pick up a book off the shelf and keep them in my locker in work. It’ll be a slow read but that’s ok – I think a maybe book of short stories? On the bus, an audio book will keep me happy but at the desk, with a cuppa, first thing in the morning – that requires reading.
I think I’ll see what my collection of British Library Crime Classics has to offer – I’m sure there’s going to be something – I’m thinking maybe Murder Underground by Mavis Doriel Hay.

What are you reading at the moment?
